Understanding traffic calculation and automatic reset mechanism

Last updated: 2023-09-12

What is Traffic?

This document will help you understand the traffic usage mechanism, including monthly traffic quota, automatic reset rules, and traffic handling when changing plans.

Traffic refers to the total amount of data you can transfer while using the service, including both upload and download data. Each subscription plan includes a certain monthly traffic quota.

Monthly Traffic Quota

Traffic Quota Explanation

Our subscription plans use a monthly traffic quota system, which means:

  • Each plan includes a fixed monthly traffic quota (e.g., 200GB, 400GB, or 1000GB)
  • Traffic automatically resets every 30 days without manual intervention
  • Upon reset, you receive the full traffic quota regardless of whether you used all of it in the previous cycle
  • You can always check the exact date of your next traffic reset in the user dashboard

Example

Suppose you purchase a Standard Plan (400GB/month) on November 1st:

  1. November 1: Immediately receive 400GB traffic after purchase
  2. November 15: Used 150GB, 250GB remaining
  3. December 1: Traffic automatically resets, receive full 400GB quota again
  4. December 15: Used 300GB, 100GB remaining
  5. January 1: Automatically reset again, receive 400GB

Important Note: This is a monthly traffic quota, not a one-time total. At the start of each reset cycle, you receive the full traffic allowance regardless of whether you used all of it in the previous cycle.

Automatic Reset Mechanism

Automatic Reset Explanation

The system automatically resets your traffic in the following situations:

  • Automatically resets every 30 days (calculated from purchase date)
  • Both used traffic and remaining traffic are cleared upon reset
  • You receive the full monthly traffic quota again
  • As long as your account hasn't expired, traffic will continue to reset automatically by cycle

Check Reset Date: You can view the 'Next Reset' date in the 'Subscription Status' card on your user dashboard homepage to know exactly when your next traffic reset will occur.

Account Expiry Handling

When Account Expires

When your subscription account expires:

  • All subscription information (plan, traffic quota, reset cycle) will be cleared
  • Remaining traffic will be cleared
  • You need to purchase a new plan to continue using the service
  • After purchasing a new plan, the traffic reset cycle will start from the new purchase moment

Expiry Example

Suppose your account expires on December 31:

  1. Before December 31: Normal use, traffic resets automatically by cycle
  2. After December 31: Account expires, subscription info and traffic cleared
  3. January 5 purchase new plan: Receive full traffic quota, reset cycle starts from January 5

Purchasing New Plans

When Purchasing a New Plan

When you purchase a new subscription plan, traffic handling rules are as follows:

  • Old plan information will be overwritten by the new plan
  • Traffic immediately resets to the full monthly quota of the new plan
  • Used traffic is cleared, you receive a brand new traffic quota
  • Traffic reset cycle recalculates from the moment of purchasing the new plan
  • Account validity extends based on purchased duration (monthly/quarterly/annual)

Plan Change Example

Suppose you're currently using Light Plan (200GB/month), used 150GB, now upgrading to Standard Plan (400GB/month):

Before Upgrade:
Light Plan 200GB, used 150GB, 50GB remaining
After Upgrade:
Standard Plan 400GB, immediately receive full 400GB quota
Note:
Traffic reset cycle restarts from upgrade moment

Best Practice Recommendations

Renew on Time

Renew before account expires to avoid service interruption. After expiration, both subscription info and traffic will be cleared.

Choose the Right Plan

Select traffic quota based on your actual monthly usage. If you often run out before reset, consider upgrading; if you often have large amounts remaining, consider downgrading.

Monitor Traffic Usage

Regularly check traffic usage and next reset date in user dashboard to plan your usage reasonably.

Long-term Plans Save More

Choosing quarterly or annual plans offers 15%-30% discounts and longer account validity, while traffic still resets every 30 days.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will traffic accumulate to next month?

No. Traffic resets every 30 days. Regardless of whether you used all of it in the previous cycle, you'll receive the full monthly quota again. Unused traffic does not accumulate.

If I purchase an annual plan, do I get 12 months' worth of traffic at once?

No. Annual plans only extend your account validity for 365 days. Traffic is still a monthly quota that resets every 30 days. For example, Standard Plan annual gives you 400GB per month, not 4800GB at once.

How do I know when my traffic will reset next?

Log in to your user dashboard and check the 'Subscription Status' card on the homepage to see the exact 'Next Reset' date and countdown days.

Will purchasing a new plan increase my existing traffic?

No. When purchasing a new plan, traffic resets to the full quota of the new plan and does not stack with remaining traffic from the old plan.

What happens when I run out of traffic?

When traffic runs out, the service will be unavailable. You can wait for the next automatic reset (if account hasn't expired), or purchase a larger plan to immediately receive a new quota.

Will traffic be retained after account expires?

No. After account expiration, all subscription information and traffic will be cleared. Purchasing a new plan will give you a brand new traffic quota and reset cycle.
