Node Selection
How to select suitable nodes for best user experience
Choosing suitable nodes is crucial for user experience. This guide will help you understand how to select best nodes based on needs.
Node Selection Factors
Latency
Latency is time required for data to travel from your device to server and back. Lower latency means faster page loading and better gaming experience. Usually choose nodes with latency under 100ms.
Geographic Location
Physical distance directly affects latency. Usually choose geographically closer nodes. For example, Chinese users recommended to prioritize Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore nodes.
Bandwidth
Bandwidth determines maximum transfer speed. High bandwidth nodes suitable for downloading and watching videos. Low latency doesn't mean high bandwidth, need actual speed testing.
Load
Node's current user count and traffic usage. Overloaded nodes become slower, recommend avoiding popular nodes during peak hours.
Stability
Whether node frequently disconnects or speed fluctuates. Can observe through long-term use, select stable nodes and add to favorites.
Usage Scenario Recommendations
Daily Browsing
Low latency, fast page loading. Usually 50-100ms latency meets needs.
Video Streaming
Requires higher bandwidth and stability. Choose nodes labeled 'Streaming Optimized' or 'Unlock'. Test to ensure smooth 1080P or 4K video playback.
Gaming
Prioritize extremely low latency (under 50ms best). Choose nodes close to game servers. Avoid high-load nodes to reduce latency fluctuation.
Downloading
Choose nodes labeled 'High Traffic' or 'Download Optimized'. Test download speed, choose fastest. Watch traffic consumption.
Remote Work
Stability more important than speed. Choose enterprise or high-tier nodes. Avoid frequent node switching affecting work.
Testing Nodes
Test Latency
Most clients support batch latency testing. V2RayN press Ctrl+R, Clash view latency in node list. Choose few lowest latency nodes as backups.
Speed Test
Use fast.com or speedtest.net to test actual speed. Test several low-latency nodes separately, choose fastest.
Test Stability
Observe if frequent disconnections during long-term use. Play videos or download files, observe if speed fluctuates.
Node Type Descriptions
Standard Nodes
Regular nodes, suitable for daily use. Available to all plan users.
Premium Nodes
Higher bandwidth and fewer users. Usually requires higher tier plan. Better stability.
Streaming Nodes
Specifically optimized for accessing Netflix, Disney+ and other streaming platforms. Can unlock region-restricted content.
Gaming Nodes
Optimized for gaming, lower and more stable latency. Suitable for latency-sensitive online games.
Optimization Tips
Save 3-5 backup nodes for quick switching when issues arise
Use different nodes for different times and purposes
Avoid using popular nodes during 8-11 PM
Regularly update subscription to get new nodes
If all nodes slow, check local network or account traffic
Use rule mode, direct connection for domestic sites, proxy for foreign sites
Choose nodes based on actual experience, not just latency numbers
